Tejpatta, known as Indian Bay Leaf, is used to impart a characteristic falvour in various cuisines. It gives warm, peppery, clove cinnamon like flavour to food. Tejpatta is known to be beneficial for diabetes. It is also good for health as it helps to lower the bad cholesterol and manages blood pressure by removing excessive sodium due to its diuretic property. Tejpatta might also help prevent stomach ulcers by reducing the free radical damage caused to stomach cell as it is rich in antioxidants and has gastroprotective properties. Adding Tejpatta leaves to food helps in removing digestion and also prevents gas and flatulence due to its carminative property.
